Chef D Allen's favorite cuisine is Italian and she LOVE it all!! Lasagna, a wide flat pasta, is possibly one of the oldest kinds of pasta. The word "lasagne", and, in many non-Italian languages, the singular "lasagna". There is also a dish made with this type of pasta in several layers interspersed with a variety of delicious layers of ingredients and sauces.
Lasagne originated in Italy, traditionally ascribed to the city of Naples (Campania), where the first modern recipe was created in the Middle Ages and published in Liber de Coquina (The Book of Cookery), and became a traditional dish.
